The new football season means one thing for many gamers – the latest instalment of the Football Manager series arrives for players to spend hours of their lives on.

There are a number of different challenges that players can try and take on, with realism sometimes going completely out of the window, but choosing the right team can be extremely important when looking to create a new save. Inter Milan

This year’s edition of the game will see the Blues having the likes of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva – whilst there may be a further couple of new additions to arrive at Stamford Bridge prior to the release of the game.

Indeed, if youth is the way forward, then the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Reece James, Billy Gilmour and Callum Hudson-Odoi will all be waiting in the wings to take the club as far as possible for as long as possible.

Borussia Dortmund

Imagine having a squad full of wonderkids that are versatile with the way they can be set-up in regards to tactics. You do not have to, as Borussia Dortmund can fulfil those dreams.

The BVB have added Jude Bellingham to a squad that is already boasting young talent and if Jadon Sancho remains, then the club could be one of the best to manage.

Julian Brandt, Thorgan Hazard, Reinier, Giovanni Reyna and Erling Braut Haaland are just some of the other stars to be found at the Signal Iduna Park for the upcoming season, therefore players can look to channel their inner-Jurgen Klopp and look to try and finally end Bayern Munich’s domination of the Bundesliga – virtually.

Villarreal

Compared to the teams already mentioned, Villarreal might be a little left-field, however they are just as equally as exciting as any of the others.

The Spaniards have been one of the La Liga teams to start trying to change the shape of the division, as they have finished in the top six in six of their last seven seasons.

Indeed, players like Samuel Chukwueze, Manu Morlanes and Javier Ontiveros certainly help to make things interesting, whilst the possibility of bringing in other young Spanish talents could be a great proposition for avid Football Manager players.
