Speaking of managers that have been able to produce some rather historic moments for the club they have been in charge of, Gareth Ainsworth is another individual that deserves praise.

The former midfielder has been in charge of Wycombe Wanderers for the last eight years and has taken them to the Championship for the very first time after guiding them to a successful play-off run in the 2019/20 campaign.

Sean Dyche – Burnley

The first of the two Premier League managers to feature in the top five longest managerial tenures in English football, Sean Dyche has been in charge of Burnley for just under eight years.

The Turf Moor outfit have gone from strength-to-strength under his guidance and have become an established Premier League side in more recent times, despite having had their struggles in the past.

John Coleman – Accrington Stanley

Just over six years have passed for John Coleman at Accrington Stanley, although it is not his first spell with the club. In fact, the former forward managed the club from 1999-2012 (13 years) before spending time at Rochdale and Southport across two years.

Almost halfway to reaching the same milestone, it will be interesting to see if the manager can add a further seven years (and even more) at the club.

Jurgen Klopp – Liverpool

Having managed a club as big as Liverpool for five years, it could be argued that Jurgen Klopp has been fortunate to have been given the time he has had, however he has already proved that time could be the perfect thing.

The German managed to provide Liverpool with their first Premier League title (since the league was rebranded), whilst he has continued to take the Reds to unstoppable levels.
