Today, I am in need of your help once again. In preparing for West Brom at the Hawthorns this weekend I’ve come up against a formation quandary.
Over the last two games, I’ve been lining Swansea up in a 3-5-2 formation and we’ve done fairly well. There was the 5-3 triumph over Leicester City, which has left them rooted to the foot of the league, before the 3-0 loss at Anfield to Liverpool.
I’ve developed this formation to give us an alternative option for the FA Cup final after we have excelled in a 4-4-2 since I took the reins here in South Wales. It was a formation based on winning the ball back with the central defenders or the more defensive-minded midfielder before launching counter-attacks down the flanks before crossing.
The question is, should I continue with the 3-5-2 against West Brom to prepare us for using it in the FA Cup or abandon it and focus on the 4-4-2 which brought us to the dance?
West Brom are likely to play a 4-2-3-1 with Rondon the focal point ahead of James Morrison with Phillips and Chadli out wide. Playing three at the back does seem overkill but Morrison’s positioning might require more defensive awareness.
Letou Choose is about you making decisions which affect the game, so what do you think? How should we play against West Brom this weekend?
