FM18 | Letou Choose | Player Profile: Jordan Ayew

The third Swansea City player profile of the week is the superstar, the bright shining light of our season… Jordan Ayew.

According to the form guide he has 16 goals and 6 assists in the last 20 games, which is nothing short of impressive for a team in mid-table.

In the Charlie Tango 4-4-2 approach he has been played as a Complete Forward beside a Target Man, either Wilfried Bony or Abraham and has excelled. I said yesterday that Nathan Dyer will be my player of the year but the supporters will surely look to Jordan for their award.

27 appearances this season have resulted in 23 goals, seven assists and six player of the match awards. He has been featured in the team of the week three times during the season and in seven international appearances he has scored eleven goals.

In terms of Premier League statistics, he imposes himself on several lists. Firstly he is the best in the entire league at hitting the target, with 64% shots on goal troubling the opposition defence. His average rating of 7.39 is second only to one Eden Hazard. After the recent game against Leicester City he is now second on the goalscorers list, in front of him is Harry Kane and I won’t be making any jokes about Kane being awarded goals that might not have been his…

Jordan has a record of one goal every 93.16 minutes, which is by far the most impressive in the top ten goalscorers list. For comparison, Kane has a goal every 151.05 minutes and Álvaro Morata has a goal every 151.00 minutes. I should also add at this point that Jordan’s brother André is also on the top ten scorers list with 14. He has a penalty record of four in four, 100%.

Jordan Ayew has carried this team on his back for the majority of the season. While Renato Sanches has been up and down, Bony has had injury concerns, even Alfie Mawson has been dropped for dropping the odd bollock but Jordan is bullet proof.

I’m not long for this job with just three games left in our schedule, but one of the real highlights has been Jordan Ayew.
