With that in mind, not just gaming aspects, but also official licences, have been released.
FM has won the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League this year, but a swoop for the Premier League champions may be the most stunning of all.
Manchester City have been turning their focus to gaming for some time, even going so far as to reveal this year’s third kit exclusively on Roblox.
Their gaming reach appears to be expanding further, with the current Premier League champions signing a new contract with Sports Interactive that would see the Citizens fully licenced in Football Manager 2023.
Sports Interactive, the creators of Football Manager, will become an official partner of Manchester City, bringing new eyes to the burgeoning product.
As many FM players are aware, the Premier League is NOT legally licenced in FM23, and Manchester City will currently be the only team to appear in authentic form in this year’s game.
Manchester City aren’t the first team to get a piece of the Football Manager pie, with prior partnerships with Sports Interactive signed by Leicester and Southampton.
Both Premier League clubs received special editions of the game on those dates, with fans able to experience the club in fully licenced form by pre-ordering this one-of-a-kind edition.
No sides were recipients of a special edition deal when Football Manager 2022 launched, but we wouldn’t be surprised if a Manchester City special edition of Football Manager 2023 became available soon.
