Reading were ahead 1-0 in the Championship game at St Andrew’s but Coventry City came back to win 2-1.

Away team Reading took the lead just before half time as John Swift found the net.

With barely 30 minutes on the clock, Coventry City’s Jamie Allen scored and equalised.

The deciding goal came in the 90th minute, when Matt Godden scored a 2-1 for Coventry City. The team had then turned the match around.

Reading have had a poor start and have only three points from their first four games. Coventry City are on nine points.

The last meeting between the teams ended in a 3-0 home win for Reading in January 2021.

In the next games in the Championship, Coventry City will play Queens Park Rangers (away) on 2021-08-28, Middlesbrough (home) on 2021-09-11 and Cardiff (home) on 2021-09-15. Reading play Huddersfield Town (away) on 2021-08-28, Queens Park Rangers (home) on 2021-09-11 and Peterborough (home) on 2021-09-14.
