Everton increased the lead to 3-1 one minut later as Demarai Gray scored, with an assist by Abdoulaye Doucoure. The team had then turned the match around. This brought the final score to 3-1.

The result means the fourth game in a row without a win for Burnley.

Burnley have had a sluggish start to the season and have only one point from their first four games. Everton are on 10 points.

The last meeting between the teams ended in a 2-1 away win for Burnley in March 2021.
